Travel Insurance Assistance & Claims
In the event of a medical emergency covered by this insurance, a 24-hour worldwide telephone assistance service is available to you. This is provided to our customers by Specialty Assistance Services (SAS).

If you are calling from within the UK you will need to dial 020 7939 9645.
It is important to note that this insurance will only cover in-patient care, emergency repatriation or curtailment that has been authorised by SAS, who must be notified within 48 hours of admission to hospital, and for curtailment, prior to departure back to your country of residence.
SAS will accept reverse charges if you do not have funds to make the call.
In the event of an occurrence that may give rise to a claim you should advise Gallagher Bassett, our claims handlers, as soon as possible; and certainly within 30 days of returning from your trip.

Please advise them that you hold a Columbus Direct policy, give your name, address, telephone number, Insurance Schedule Number and a brief explanation as to the nature of your claim.
You should ensure you keep evidence of ownership and the value of any insured property or any expenses incurred. This will be requested in order to pay any claim.
